Employee Case Studies
Case Study 1
Steve had been with his employer for several years, working in London.
Back in May 2020, he received a Whatsapp message, along with five other employees, from the Company director to attend a meeting. There was no agenda, so people asked for clarification. The company said the purpose was to talk about the latest business issues following the pandemic.
At the meeting, the director told everyone they would need to relocate from London to Norwich, as a result of downsizing the office premises. They were told to decide whether to relocate at their own travel expense or be made redundant.
When Steve approached HR Resolve, we supported Steve in the background, putting together formal responses to his employer. We ensured they treated him fairly and properly. We guided Steve with his employment options, enabling him to resolve the situation by leaving the business with a significantly improved redundancy package.
We took all the stress away from Steve and allowed him to receive enough financial compensation to move forward. He was able to make the right decisions without feeling pressurised and look for other suitable career opportunities within London.
Case Study 2
Jane had worked for her employer in Bristol for over five years. Everything was fine until her new boss arrived and took a dislike to her.
Although Jane’s performance remained good, the new boss was critical, finding fault and made remarks in front of others about some of her objectives not being met.
Earlier this year, Jane was unexpectedly called into the office with her boss and another senior colleague and told that they felt her work was not to the required standard. If she did not improve, the company told her that they would consider whether she was right for the job.
When Jane turned to HR Resolve for support, we explained to her the flaws in the company’s approach and explained her rights and how she should have been treated.
We discussed with Jane what outcome she wanted.
With the support of HR Resolve, we succeeded in helping Jane gain a full apology from the company, along with all intended action against her being dropped.
